Cairns Southern Access Cycleway

Lackon successfully provided Project Director services for the Cairns Southern Access Cycleway project, which delivered significant benefits to bicycle riders and the active transport community in the Cairns region. This project established a crucial link between the southern suburbs and the city, connecting to new cycleways built as part of the Cairns Southern Access Stage 3 (E2G) and Stage 4 (K2A) projects. Once completed, the combined efforts resulted in a 20 km direct cycleway linking Gordonvale to the Cairns CBD. The new cycleway offered a dedicated and safe route for all bike riders, including school children, facilitating connections between Edmonton, Mount Sheridan, White Rock, and Woree. The project significantly improved safety and enhanced access to numerous schools, businesses, and shopping precincts located south of Cairns.
