Captain Cook Highway - Smithfield Bypass

Lackon served as the Project Director for the Smithfield Bypass project, which was successfully completed in November 2021. This significant $164 million project involved the construction of a new 3-meter-wide, off-road shared pathway that extends 4 kilometers from the intersection of Captain Cook Highway and Cairns Western Arterial Road to the McGregor Road roundabout. The pathway was designed to enhance connectivity by providing multiple access points, including connections at Mallows Bridges underpass, Catanna Road, Unnamed Road, and McGregor Road.
