MICC engaged Lackon to support the delivery of the capital program, including this project. Our role included but was not limited to the following: Developing project business cases, feasibility, and budget; Planning, designing, and procuring; Managing construction and contracts; Commissioning and handing over; Applying for and managing state and federal funding, and reporting; and Coordinating the capital works program.
The $895,000 Gallipoli Park Pump Track and Recreation Development is funded through the Queensland Government's Active Community Infrastructure Stream. Located at Gallipoli Park South, Soldiers Hill, the project included the construction of an asphalt pump track along with additional amenities. The site development, covering 5-10% of the area, involved the creation of a multi-use court, exercise equipment, covered picnic tables, and landscaping works. The pump track design was carefully planned to accommodate riders of different skill levels, offering various route options with small and medium rollers, short and long berms, and double rollers, enabling riders to approach each run in diverse ways. This project's endorsement and funding were fully supported by the State.
