Biggenden Water Treatment Plant

Biggenden, QLD

March 2022 – Ongoing

$2 - $20M

North Burnett Regional Council QLD

Lackon successfully delivered the Biggenden Water Treatment Plant (WTP) project, providing specialised project management services. The existing facility, which serves as a crucial piece of regional infrastructure for the North Burnett area, required urgent upgrades due to its deteriorating condition and the necessity for replacement. Recognising the importance of ensuring a reliable water supply for local communities, the project aimed to enhance the existing plant while expanding its capacity and incorporating advanced treatment techniques. Lackon leveraged its extensive experience in water infrastructure projects to manage the delivery across the Design/Documentation, Construction, and Project Close-out stages. With an expanded capacity of 2 megalitres (ML) per day, the upgraded WTP not only addresses the immediate need for improvements but also significantly enhances the water treatment capabilities, resilience, and sustainability of the North Burnett region.
