Elanora Sewarage Treatment Plant Upgrade Project
Elanora, QLD
September 2024 - Ongoing
$79M
City of Gold Coast
The Elanora STP serves a population of approximately 90,000 equivalent persons (EP). A capacity assessment of the catchment area identified that with the expected growth projections, the treatment plant will be at or near treatment capacity by the end of 2026. Master Planning has established that Elanora STP requires capacity for an additional 25,000 EP for the planning window to 2046.
The purpose of the Works is to increase the capacity of Elanora Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to meet the future catchment requirements and, as part of an overall long-term asset management strategy, allow for near term off lining of the existing bioreactors for required refurbishment. The Upgrade Works will:
• Renew existing assets
• Provide additional treatment capacity.
In addition to the above, the following outcomes are required:
• Maintain compliance with the Elanora STP Environmental Authority (EA) EPPR00870313 and all other applicable environmental legislation and statutory requirements
• Safe, efficient, reliable and easily accessible equipment and plant for operational and maintenance purposes
• Achieve performance criteria nominated in Principal’s Project Requirements Part B01 – Project Specific Technical Specification
• All equipment and infrastructure to achieve design life specified in PPR Part C01 to PPR Part C04 of the Water and Waste Standard Specifications
• Minimise Whole of Life (WOL) operational and maintenance costs for plant, material and equipment selected and installed as part of the Works.
Lackon is currently enagaged by Council as Superintendent's Representative to support the upgrade works.
