Lackon provided comprehensive program and project management services for the Mountain View Stage 6A project, which involved extending the Ernie Tebb Park drainage at Albion Avenue through a newly constructed drainage easement connecting Albion Avenue to Miami Shore Parade, and extending to Nobby Parade while also running north along Chainey Avenue. This area had several properties known to experience Habitable Floor Flooding (HFF) during a 1% AEP event (1 in 100 years). The project successfully alleviated these existing flooding issues and enhanced the stormwater network capacity to manage future flows.
The project team effectively overcame key challenges and delivered essential scope items, including property acquisitions in compliance with the Acquisition of Land Act 1967, design management and optimisation, and substantial temporary works between neighbouring properties. Additionally, they excelled in stakeholder communication and engagement, addressing budget and constructability considerations to successfully deliver stormwater infrastructure up to DN1650, reaching depths of 4 metres, all within a brownfield and tightly constrained urban environment.
