Lackon is providing Superintendency services for the $56 million Yawalpah Road Upgrade in Pimpama, Queensland. This major infrastructure project upgrades a two-lane rural road to a four- and five-lane urban arterial, improving connectivity between Pacific Motorway (M1) Exit 49 and Kerkin Road to support rapid growth across the northern Gold Coast. As Superintendent, Lackon oversees design, construction, contract administration, and compliance, ensuring full alignment with Transport and Main Roads (TMR) standards and Local Government procurement policies.
Our responsibilities include contract administration under TMR, AS2124, and funding guidelines, managing procurement, contractor compliance, cost control, and DRFA eligibility submissions via the QRA MARS Portal. We supervise all construction activities including a new three-lane bridge over the rail corridor, road widening, intersection upgrades, active transport paths, and on-road cycling infrastructure, ensuring strict compliance with TMR and Australian Standards. Program management includes monitoring milestones, proactively managing risk, coordinating utility relocations and traffic staging, and ensuring WHS, environmental, and cultural heritage compliance. We also lead stakeholder engagement, liaising with Council, TMR, Queensland Rail, and adjacent projects such as the Coomera Connector and Pimpama Station, while managing community impacts and supporting local businesses through construction.
