Salerno Street Bridge Remediation

Lackon previously provided project Superintendent, Inspector, and Superintendent's Representative services for the maintenance of the Salerno Street Bridge over Backwater Creek in Surfers Paradise. During this project, the Council undertook essential maintenance works that necessitated the reduction of Salerno Street to one lane, which resulted in minor delays for motorists.

The scope of the project included significant repairs to the bridge's concrete structure, the installation of erosion protection measures for the canal bed, the renewal of bridge expansion joints, and the application of protective coatings to extend the lifespan of the materials used. Additionally, waterway access beneath the bridge on Backwater Creek was temporarily closed throughout the duration of the works to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
