Kerry Road Upgrade is one of the two projects in Queensland that has been approved under the latest round (Tranche 5) of funding applications for the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HVSPP). The allocation is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment of at least $65 million per year, which gives funding to state, territory and local governments for projects to increase safety and productivity along heavy vehicle freight routes, including widening and upgrading roads.

Jointly funded by SRRC and the Federal Government, the project aims to upgrade approximately 2km of Kerry Road, including road re-alignment, width and pavement strengthening. In addition to this, Council has also received funding through The Department of Transport and Main Road’s Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme (TIDS) to complete the design this FY 2023-2024, with the construction works to be completed in September 2025.
Lackonis providing Project Management Services for Scenic Rim Regional Council to assist the delivery of design, tender, and construction of Kerry Road. Including the Procurement and management of design consultancy contractors. Lackon’s responsibility also extends to comprehensive strategies for mitigating risks associated with land resumption. This includes measures to minimise disruptions, manage environmental impacts, and address potential issues from property owners and public utility providers (PUPs).
